Over the past year, Perttu Aunola, Head of Revenue at Trimble Forestry, worked closely with Leadership Developer Ludger Marekwia from LMI Finland as part of the Effective Personal Leadership program.
Trimble Forestry operates internationally and provides technology solutions for digital forestry, supply chain optimisation, and connected forest operations.
The starting point was clear: to sharpen leadership impact, sustainable performance, and long-term business results in a demanding global sales environment.
One reflection Perttu shared in the final discussion captured the spirit of the journey well: “Keep on dreaming. Intentionally dreaming. And keep the passion for what you are doing.”
During the journey, the focus was on bringing already strong leadership practices to the next level:
• sharpening priorities in a complex sales role
• connecting planning, execution, and measurable progress more clearly
• creating more intentional dialogue with team members
• balancing high performance with sustainable energy and well-being
The impact has been visible in stronger pipeline development, clearer alignment, major customer successes, and positive momentum within the team.
An especially valuable insight during the process was how Perttu’s leadership approach developed: broadening from a strong focus on driving results toward engaging, motivating, and supporting people more individually.
Based on his own positive experience with the program, he decided to provide similar leadership development support to his team.
